Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Ensures patient safety, manages surgical sterile environments, and supports surgical teams throughout procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative and intraoperative patient care, monitoring vital signs and surgical sites.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, ensuring proper sterilization and setup.
• Assist surgeons and clinical staff during procedures, including trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, GYN, and robotic surgeries.
• Document all clinical activities accurately in the Meditech system.
• Follow safety protocols, including BLS certifications, and adhere to hospital policies.
• Respond promptly to intraoperative patient needs and emergencies.

Qualifications:

• Possess an active RN license with at least 1-year operating room experience.
• Demonstrate strong surgical skills, including handling complex procedures such as heart, trauma, and robotics surgeries.
• Hold current BLS certification.
• Display excellent critical thinking, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system and hospital protocols.
