Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinarian to join our team at Adobe Animal Hospital in Staten Island, New York. The role involves providing high‑quality veterinary care and building lasting client relationships, while working closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director. Benefits Competitive salary of $185,000 - $200,000 Production bonus – no negative accrual option Signing, retention and relocation packages up to $125,000 Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support – Calm app access and 24/7 EAP CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle – relief fund for team members facing hardship Local hospital culture backed by national resources Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Communicate and educate clients Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintain accurate medical records Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution Current state veterinary license DEA registration obtained and maintained 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to high‑quality compassionate veterinary care Effective communication with medical and hospital staff Client communication skills to establish rapport and provide explanations Display confidence and reassurance with stressed or ill pets Physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl as required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical knowledge and skill in examining and assessing animals across systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, etc.) Problem‑solving ability for hospital management challenges Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff Professionalism, constructive feedback exchange Business acumen regarding management and finances of the practice Ethical principles guiding patient decisions Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning of others Pay Range $185,000 — $200,000 USD per year.
