Our Business Intelligence Architect will design, build, and implement data-driven solutions that empower decision-making across our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing BI architecture, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration of data sources to create actionable insights.

Why the job exists

You are the reason the rest of Life is Good gets to make decisions with data instead of gut feel. Sales, operations, finance, design: every team has questions that only good information can answer, and you build the systems, models, and reports that put those answers in their hands. Your work helps the business see clearly, move faster, and spend more time spreading the power of optimism.

What must get done

• You design the data foundation. Pipelines (Rivery, Fivetran), models, and sources fit together cleanly so the business can ask new questions without rebuilding the plumbing every time.
• You connect SAP, Shopify, and other SaaS tools so the data tells one consistent story.
• You turn raw data into decisions. Reports, dashboards, and analyses are accurate, fast, and built around the question someone is actually trying to answer.
• You keep the lights on. Troubleshooting broken reports, answering data questions, and fixing issues in production, across both our current and future reporting environments.
• You make self-service real. The business can answer its own questions, with the right data, guardrails, and trust in the numbers.
• You hold the bar on data quality and security. Sensitive data is protected, lineage is documented, and the numbers reconcile to the system of record.
• You partner with leaders to set the BI roadmap, bringing informed recommendations on tools, patterns, and investments, not just opinions.
• You use AI as a standard part of your work to accelerate SQL, modeling, and exploration, verifying the logic carefully before anything reaches an executive.
• You spot patterns in data, usage, and reporting requests to get ahead of the questions the business is about to ask, and turn analysis into stories that help leaders act with confidence.
  

What you know and have done

• You have a BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• You are known to coworkers and clients as a go-to resource for defining BI strategy and building it. You don’t just design the solution, you ship it.
• You have solid, hands-on experience with Power BI (required) and Snowflake (required). This is the architecture we’re moving toward, and you’re ready to build in it from day one, not learn it on the job. Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools is a welcome plus.
• You’ve worked directly with ETL/ELT tools like Rivery and Fivetran, connecting sources, building pipelines, and troubleshooting when data doesn’t land the way it should.
• You are a doer. You write the SQL, build the models, and wire up the pipelines yourself. This is a hands-on-keyboard role, not a vision-setting or people-management role.
• You’ve pulled data from SAP, ECC or S/4HANA (S/4 experience is a strong plus), and know the quirks of getting clean, reliable data out of SAP and into a modern BI stack. Experience with Shopify or marketing and social platforms is a plus.
• You have 7+ years of experience using business intelligence tools to turn raw data into decisions, and can describe specific results you’ve achieved with them.
• A certification in Snowflake or Power BI is a plus.
