General Description:

Maintains service operations by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing plant equipment with a focus on continuous production.

Essential Job Functions:

• Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting, testing, and repairing non-functioning equipment; completing preventative maintenance such as fluid changes, filter changes, and troubleshooting plant problems.
• Maintains equipment in functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing equipment failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing equipment damage.
• Verifies equipment serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complies with Federal and State hazardous material handling and safety requirements.
• Maintains equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Maintains equipment records by recording service and repairs.
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
• All other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Preferred
• 5 years' experience in the maintenance field
• Maintenance in the extrusion field is a plus

Educational Requirements:

• Required
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Preferred
• Associate's Degree or equivalent
• Mechanical certifications
• Electrical certifications
• PLC certifications

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
• Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
• Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
• May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
• May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
• May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
• Work surfaces may include concrete.
• Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
• Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required
