General Manager Duties

As a Front Line Manager you will:

1. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
2. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
3. Evaluate work performance of subordinates and makes recommendations for outstanding performance recognition and/or disciplinary action.
4. Give advice, counsel or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.
5. Interview candidates for positions within the organization/unit and recommend appointment, promotion or reassignment to such positions.
6. Hear and resolve complaints from employees, refer group grievances and/or more serious unresolved complaints as appropriate.
7. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommend other actions in more serious cases.
8. Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
9. Initiate ways to improve production, work processes and/or to increase the quality of the work directed.

• Responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and improving program operations that support the agency's tax administration mission. The position involves conducting detailed research and technical analysis of policies, procedures, and operational data to assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and service delivery. Reviews program performance metrics, prepares analytical reports, and interprets complex regulatory guidance to ensure alignment with federal tax laws and organizational objectives.
• Provides technical support to management by evaluating program requirements, developing process improvements, and assisting in the implementation of new initiatives or system changes. Analyzes operational workflows, monitors program performance indicators, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues that impact program delivery. Responsibilities also include preparing briefing materials, policy summaries, and recommendations for leadership, ensuring that program operations comply with established guidelines and strategic priorities.
• Conducts data analysis using internal systems and reporting tools to identify patterns, assess risks, and support decision-making. The position requires the ability to interpret complex program data, develop technical documentation, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. Through ongoing evaluation of policies, procedures, and operational outcomes, plays a key role in strengthening program integrity, improving operational effectiveness, and supporting the IRS mission of administering the nation's tax system with fairness and integrity.
