Water/Wastewater Project Manager

Job Description
Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Senior Water/Wastewater Operations Project Manager to their Chicago team!

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate between company, client and contractor
• Coordinate/administer Water/Wastewater Start-up's after Construction
• CompleteOperational Reviews of Water/Wastewater Plans during design
• Visit/troubleshootWater/Wastewater Facilities when needed for municipal clients
• Assistin Rate Studies, Alternate Water Studies, Capital Improvement Plans, andAsset Management Plans
• Actas Responsible Operator in Charge (ROINC) for one or multiplewater/wastewater treatment facilities
• Ensureregulatory compliance and submit DMR's to IEPA
• Directoperators/labors in proper water/wastewater operations
• Build/maintainrelationships with clients, community organizations, state/local agenciesand associations, city management/staff, and the public
• Responsiblefor compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations pertainingto the water and wastewater systems
• Provideon-site Municipal staffing assistance to several clients
• Serveas part-time staff technician to local municipality if needed
• Prepare/submitpermits for local municipal projects
• Coordinatework done by other departments for local municipality
• Reviewdevelopment plans for compliance with local requirements includingstormwater management, grading, sanitary sewers, water lines, andtransportation
• Consultwith other reviewers regarding electrical, photometric, and structuralissues
• Assessthe need for permits from other agencies
• Assessimpacts to on-site and adjacent private and public facilities
• Makerecommendations for improving on-site or adjacent facilities inconjunction with the development
• Preparewritten review reports
• Respondproactively to inquiries from village staff and officials, developers,designers and adjacent property owners
• Prepare, document, and improve review procedures

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in an environmentally focused degree program is preferred
• 8+ years' experience operating in a water or wastewater treatment facility or related experience
• Significant experience in a water/wastewater operations and laboratory procedures
• Knowledge of NPDES limits for wastewater quality and wastewater treatment facility regulations
• Illinois IEPA Wastewater Treatment Operator's License preferred
• Illinois IEPA Water Treatment Operator's License
• Abilityto explain technical issues to non-technical municipal staff and officials

Salary is commensurate with experience.
