Software Development Engineer, Security Platform

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver software projects end-to-end from design and implementation through deployment and production support.
• Build and operate critical security services, data pipelines, and automation for security, privacy, and compliance programs.
• Partner with Security, Identity, Privacy, Infrastructure, engineering, and product teams on Twitch-wide initiatives.
• Drive observability, reliability, and operational readiness for business-critical systems.
• Contribute to design reviews, code reviews, technical decisions, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
• Lead technical projects spanning multiple services and parallel workstreams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend services with end-to-end ownership.
• Deep fluency in a modern programming language such as Go, Java, or Python.
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating production services or pipelines on AWS, including infrastructure as code and safe rollout practices.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous and evolving problem spaces.
• Strong cross-team communication and data-driven technical decision-making.
• Preferred experience with full-stack development, security, data, privacy, authentication and authorization, vulnerability management, compliance workflows, large-scale event or log data, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, batch or streaming pipelines, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
• Familiarity with Twitch as a viewer or creator is a bonus.
