Position Details Job ID: 7370 Posting: AP7370 Location: Puyallup Special Services Position: Interpreter Tutor – ASL Salary: PESPA – Level 7; see salary schedule. FTE: Varies Calendar: 191-Day Notes: Pool position for the 26–27 school year. External applicants only. Responsibilities Support the district's deaf and hard of hearing program by facilitating communication between deaf or hard of hearing students and others, conveying teacher instruction and intent, assisting students with daily instructional activities, providing voice‑to‑sign and sign‑to‑voice support, participating as a team member to plan, review and share information, and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with hard‑of‑hearing and deaf students. Requirements and Qualifications Fluent in ASL. Completion of an interpreter training program. Prior job‑related experience with a background in educational interpreter training preferred. Minimum 4.0 score on Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) and a passing score on the EIPA written test. National Interpreter Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and a passing score on the EIPA written test is acceptable.
