Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a High Risk Labor and Delivery position requiring 1 year of specialty experience and MN RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• High risk labor and delivery patient population
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Day shift (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:30) and Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30) available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to postpartum within scope required to meet facility needs
• Facility performs 200-300 births per month
• Specialized procedures include C-sections, PPTL, D&C, cerclage placement/removal, and waterbirth
• Epic (Excellian) EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP required; Advanced NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and infusion pump use
• Experience with labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery assistance, and vaginal delivery assistance
• Experience circulating for C-sections and hemorrhage/shock management
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Knowledge of fetal monitoring including EFM and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience with high-risk conditions including preeclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, and VBAC management
• Must be gone 3 months from last shift if previously worked as staff or per diem employee at the facility

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care for high-risk labor and delivery patients including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages
• Assist with surgical procedures including cesarean sections, cervical cerclage, and D&C
• Support neonatal care immediately following delivery including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• Administer medications including antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, and pitocin
• Provide pain management support including epidural anesthesia and PCA use
• Float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
• Scrubs are provided by the unit
