Accounting Coordinator – Addison, IL
$65,000 - $75,000 Annually + Hybrid

We are a growing automotive parts manufacturer with a hands-on finance team and a business that gives our accounting staff exposure to much more than the general ledger.

As an Accounting Coordinator, you will work alongside the accounting team and interact with purchasing, production, sales, and operations. You will gain experience across AP, AR, reconciliations, inventory, month-end close, and general accounting while learning how the financial side of a manufacturing company operates. The goal is to bring someone onto the team who wants to build their skills and take on more responsibility over time.

What You'll Do

Accounts Payable

• Process and enter vendor invoices, ensuring invoices are properly coded and supported.
• Match invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation.
• Research pricing, quantity, and invoice discrepancies and work with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with payment processing.
• Respond to vendor questions regarding invoices, payments, and account balances.

Accounts Receivable

• Prepare and process customer invoices and apply payments accurately.
• Maintain customer accounts and assist with account reconciliations.
• Research outstanding balances and billing discrepancies.
• Communicate with customers regarding invoices, payments, and account questions.
• Assist with collection activity and follow up on past-due accounts.

General Accounting

• Assist with monthly account reconciliations and month-end closure.
• Prepare and enter journal entries as needed.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Research accounting transactions and make corrections when necessary.
• Maintain organized supporting documentation for financial records.

Manufacturing & Inventory

• Work with purchasing and production to research discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving records, invoices, and accounting records.
• Assist with inventory-related reconciliations and accounting activity.
• Review purchasing and production information to ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
• Research discrepancies involving materials, quantities, pricing, and inventory.
• Work with operations to resolve accounting questions and keep financial information accurate.

What We're Looking For

• Previous accounting experience in a hands-on accounting or finance role.
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, or general accounting.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to learn ERP and accounting systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable researching an issue, asking questions, and following it through to resolution.
• Professional communication skills when working with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
• Someone who takes ownership of their work and follows through without needing constant direction.
• A team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently.
