PCA Personal Care Aide

Job Summary:

The Gardens By Morningstar, a family-owned and operated Assisted Living Residence in Oswego, New York, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PCA Personal Care Aide to join our team. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.

 

Responsibilities:

• Encourage and reinforce the need for a safe environment, recognizing potential hazards and reporting concerns to supervisors

• Involve residents and families in care decisions, promoting self-determination and independence

• Explain care procedures to residents, ensuring they understand and are comfortable with their care plan

• Recognize and report any abuse or neglect potential

• Provide feedback and suggestions for changes to the care plan

• Assist with daily living activities, such as eating, bathing, dressing, and grooming

• Report any changes in residents' mental and physical conditions to the supervisor

• Follow established policies, procedures, and documentation standards

• Maintain a clean and safe environment, reporting any issues to environmental services

•  

Requirements:

• Current HHA or PCA certification

• Minimum of 0 years of experience

• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents, with or without the use of assistive devices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to and from work locations
