Job Summary:

The Snow Surfaces Manager is responsible for the oversight of all operations within the Grooming and Terrain Parks department and summer Trail/Rail Maintenance, as well as capital projects. This includes budget oversight, all safety training and compliance, all departmental training and staffing for winter grooming, terrain parks and summer operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the Snow Surfaces Department, including grooming, terrain parks, summer trail maintenance, and associated operational programs.
• Lead all staffing functions for the department, including workforce planning, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, coaching, succession planning, and employee development.
• Develop and execute operational strategies and priorities for snow surface management, including daily grooming plans, terrain park priorities, snow quality initiatives, and seasonal operating plans that support guest experience, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Establish clear expectations and accountability for supervisors, leads, and team members while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
• Serve as the department representative within Mountain Operations, participating in planning meetings, collaborating with cross-functional leaders, and ensuring Snow Surfaces priorities are effectively communicated and integrated into broader resort operations.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments, external agencies, contractors, and stakeholders, including regulatory and permitting agencies, while ensuring effective coordination on projects and operational initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, safety programs, environmental standards, and risk management practices
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, equipment, and capital assets
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School education or equivalent
• Previous experience as a groomer or heavy equipment operator preferred. Previous knowledge of Park City Mountain preferred.
• 3-5 years’ experience in managing and leading staff.
• Valid driver's license.
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, SNOWsat, Peoplesoft, and other software platforms).
• Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate verbal directions over the radio, phone, text and email.
• Ability to work long hours in all conditions and work weekends/holidays including working at least 5 days a week, year round.
• Must be able ski/ride daily to an expert level.

The expected pay range is $59,330.00 - $84,757.00 +annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
