Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with a heavy telemetry focus and a 4:1 patient ratio
• Manage a diverse patient population including sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and colostomy/ileostomy cases
• Care for patients on stable, weaning ventilators and tracheostomies, as well as those requiring chest tubes and insulin drips
• Float to other inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity areas, on an as-needed basis
• Adhere to every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday scheduling requirements
• Comply with all facility infection control policies, including mandatory masking requirements for staff who decline flu and COVID vaccination during flu season

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN License required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience — firm requirement
• Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
