Lead Software Engineer - Databricks/AWS

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software or data engineering, along with 8+ years of relevant hands-on experience.
• We look for practical experience in system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and statistical data analysis, including selecting the right tools and identifying data patterns.
• We need advanced proficiency in one or more languages and frameworks such as Python 3, ETL, Spark, Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, NoSQL, and Terraform-based infrastructure deployment.
• We value significant experience with data migration and platform migration projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration support.
• We expect strong knowledge of agile practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and the full software development life cycle.
• We require experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set standards for validating AI output for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need a solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resilience and security expectations.
• We expect experience in API-driven development, particularly with FastAPI on AWS ECS, API Gateway integration, and APIs running on AWS Lambda.
• We require proficiency with deployment pipelines such as Git, Jule, Jenkins, and Spinnaker, plus strong skills in writing test scripts and using True CD for coding and testing.
• We value demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
• We look for practical cloud-native experience, including working knowledge of AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, and API Gateway.

• We design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions, approaching technical problems in innovative ways.
• We build secure, high-quality production code in at least one programming language while maintaining efficient algorithms that integrate with related systems.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results.
• We apply Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered through automation.
• We implement and manage data solutions in Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and secure data sharing.
• We develop workflows and ETL pipelines using Python, Databricks, and Spark to optimize large-scale data processing and transformation.
• We use SQL extensively, understand the role of NoSQL databases, and apply Spark for distributed processing and analytics.
• We gather, analyze, and synthesize large and diverse data sets to create visualizations and reporting that support continuous improvement.
• We analyze data to identify issues and support decision-making for secure and stable application development.
• We lead projects independently, provide technical and architectural guidance to junior engineers, and help foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
