$2557.14/week - Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse in the Emergency Department provides expert, compassionate care to a diverse patient population, utilizing evidence-based practices and patient-centered strategies. This role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and quality improvement to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive patient care by applying the nursing process and relationship-centered care principles. Assess patient conditions, prioritize interventions, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans. Educate patients and families about their health conditions, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs. Facilitate effective communication, including bedside reports, hourly rounding, and discharge summaries, to enhance patient experience. Promote safety through adherence to protocols, proactive identification of hazards, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Perform charge nurse duties, ensuring resource availability and efficient patient throughput on assigned shifts. Qualifications: Hold an active New York State Registered Nurse license. Possess at least 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year in emergency or acute care settings. Certified in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale; PALS preferred. Demonstrate proficiency with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or active matriculation in a BSN program; associate degree considered with relevant experience.
