You will direct supervisors and drivers to ensure safe, efficient and cost-effective deliveries while maintaining compliance with DOT, OSHA and HAZMAT regulations. Success in this role requires strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to develop high-performing teams. Rooted in Our Values you will foster a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement while ensuring customer expectations are consistently exceeded.Key Responsibilities Include:Hire, train and retain supervisors and drivers to build a strong transportation teamDevelop and maintain performance metrics to drive operational resultsMonitor compliance with company policies, safety standards and regulatory requirementsLead ongoing evaluations and annual performance reviews for transportation staffGuide, plan, organize and motivate team members to achieve goals and deliver resultsImprove delivery efficiency and reduce transportation costs through process improvementsPartner with leaders across the business to align policies and objectivesInvestigate and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionallyAnalyze financial data to manage expenses and ensure alignment with approved budgetsDrive analytics and KPI development to track transportation performanceEnsure fleet operations are supported by effective maintenance programsPromote collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement within the transportation teamPerform additional duties as assignedEducation: High school diploma or GEDPreferred Experience and/or Training:5–7 years of prior transportation management experienceExperience managing fleet maintenance programsPhysical, Mental, Environmental Demands:Strong working knowledge of DOT, HAZMAT and OSHA regulationsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environmentGood judgment and decision-making with critical thinking abilitiesExperience in wholesale distribution preferredKnowledge of warehousing and inventory control a plusExperience and/or Training:Technical or college education preferredExperience in fleet management within wholesale distributionFormal training in transportation safety or compliance programsBackground in inventory and warehouse integration with transportation operationsPhysical, Mental, Environmental Demands:Frequent sitting, standing and walking with regular use of hands for computer and paperworkAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionallyStrong reasoning, communication and problem-solving skills required to manage complex operationsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-paced environmentPrimarily office-based with frequent interaction with warehouse settingsExposure to noise and activity typical of a transportation and distribution environmentThe anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $92,026 and $117,235 annually.
