Staff Accountant

Job description Perform bookkeeping tasks for various clients including: Data entry, AR and AP processing (invoicing, payments, collections), expense reimbursement processing, check runs, journal entry preparation, etc. Monthly and year-end closing assistance: Prepare monthly close journal entries, bank reconciliations, account subledgers, etc. Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and other financial reports based on client‑requested formats. May also prepare reporting packages submitted to headquarters. Assist clients in preparing information requests from external auditors Prepare miscellaneous tax forms and process payments (i.e. sales and use tax, property tax, informational returns) Perform attestation services (i.e. financial statement review, compilations) Prepare individual and corporate tax returns Qualifications and requirements Requires experience in Bookkeeping (including financial statement close process), Accounting and Attestation, or Tax (corporate or individual). Public accounting experience is a big plus (i.e. accounting firm, bookkeeping outsourcing firms). Accounting major also a strong plus. CPA or Enrolled Agent certification a strong plus. Strong communication skills and project management skills are expected (will handle multiple client engagements simultaneously) Language skills: Japanese proficiency is not a requirement, but beneficial for the role.
