Staff Accountant

Reports To Senior Accountant / Financial Controller Pay: $60,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year Job Summary Open Health Care is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, assist with the month-end close process, and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to grow within a fast-paced, mission-driven healthcare organization. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post accurate journal entries, including month-end accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and fixed asset transactions. Reconcile general ledger accounts, including daily bank reconciliations, and investigate variances as needed. Manage accounts payable: process vendor invoices, ensure appropriate coding, and support timely payment execution. Support accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, cash application, and collections follow-up. Perform monthly P&L and balance sheet flux analysis and provide clear, insightful commentary. Assist with the preparation of financial reports, internal schedules, and documentation required for audits and tax filings. Support quarterly reviews and the annual external audit with timely and complete deliverables. Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business drivers and ensure financial accuracy. Assist with ad hoc analysis, process improvement initiatives, and other special projects as assigned. Help identify and implement improvements in internal processes, systems, and reporting workflows. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience (internship experience accepted). Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills. Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas). Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) preferred. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic, high-growth environment. Actual compensation is based upon factors such as the candidate's education, skills, qualifications, and related work experience.
