Quality Inspector

Quality InspectorThe Quality Inspector inspects materials and products for conformance to specifications by performing basic dimensional and visual inspections, maintaining inspection records, using measuring devices, identifying defective parts, and supporting materials, product testing, and Statistical Process Control activities as needed.Role and ResponsibilitiesPerform basic dimensional and visual inspection of first-article, in-process and final inspectionPrepare and maintain required inspection recordsUse various measuring devices or instruments (tape measurer, calipers, gauges) to ensure product compliance with specificationsReject defective parts, and mark type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection sheetsMay perform plastic melt index, UV, impact, and other materials and product testingMay perform under other programs or generate metrics for Statistical Process ControlPosition RequirementsHigh School diploma or general education degree (GED)One (1) to two (2) years related work experienceGood communication skills in written and spoken EnglishAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to utilize effective decision-making skillsAbility to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situationsMust communicate effectively and courteously by keeping all levels of management/intermediate personnel informedSpecific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and colored visionWork ConditionsAlthough work is performed indoors, facility temperature conditions are based on the outdoor temperature at the location.Steel toe shoes required.Earplugs and safety glasses required.This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
