Treasury Analyst

Min Max Overview This treasury analyst position requires knowledge in cash management and investments. A strong desire to develop further expertise in the treasury and investment processes is a prerequisite. Duties will include both finance and accounting related activities, such as research, analyzing data, and resolving discrepancies. Other responsibilities include active participation in investment team meetings, building knowledge of insurance operations, risk tolerance, and investment related research and reporting duties. This team member will also help maintain and organize a cash flow model to be utilized by the Company. Responsibilities Work with the Director of Accounting Operations in maintaining banking relationships. Coordinate agency bank accounts throughout the state of Kentucky ensuring proper paperwork and authorizations are maintained while working to establish online access for all accounts. Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts each month and work with Financial Reporting to resolve any discrepancies. Perform monthly reconciliations for credit card and lockbox processes and work with Cash Operations and/or vendor to resolve any discrepancies. Provide a daily cash report for Accounting & Finance leadership and work with the Senior Investment Portfolio Manager regarding any movement within accounts. Prepare cash flow analysis (weekly) and stress tests (minimum semi-annually). Prepare cash transfers within accounts with the appropriate financial institutions. Prepare and file SEC reports (13F, 13H, N-PX) with assistance from investment team. Prepare model investment law compliance reports (addresses policy limits, KRS limits and SEC thresholds). Work with Financial Reporting to reconcile/validate DOI required investments and cash reports. Prepare the quarterly investment transaction report. Prepare the quarterly investment watchlist. Assist with Department of Insurance examinations. Prepare the investment sections for the AM Best SRQ filing. Assist in trade ticket processing and respond to any settlement questions from the custodian. Assist Cash Operations team with any treasury or banking products impacting cash accounts. Become familiar with regulatory requirements and internal investment policy, monitor compliance with both. Maintain working knowledge of financial regulatory environment (NAIC, Kentucky Department of Insurance, etc.) and proactively prepare for pending changes; constantly monitor compliance with regulations and internal policies. Work in partnership with the other investment team members to ensure key responsibilities for all roles are adequately covered for business continuity and backup purposes. Highly motivated self-starter, able to thrive with limited supervision. Regular, predictable attendance as employee must physically be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 5+ years’ experience in treasury roles, preferably in insurance or banking. Proficiency in standard software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as well as multi-faceted accounting and financial systems capability and ability to learn new systems as required. Desire to obtain further education or accredited certifications. Basic understanding of performing investment research on companies, industries, and macroeconomic themes. Basic understanding of asset allocation and cash flow analysis is required. High level of self-motivation and ability to collaborate with others, both internally and outside the organization. Confident, articulate presence and excellent presentation skills are vital to success. Ability to keep a positive attitude and work as a team member.
