The Patient Services Representative plays a critical role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for patients within healthcare settings such as physician offices and hospitals. This position is responsible for managing patient registration and billing processes accurately and efficiently, serving as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their medical insurance and billing inquiries. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to handle sensitive patient information and medical terminology correctly, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. By facilitating clear communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, the Patient Services Representative helps to streamline administrative workflows and support the overall delivery of quality care. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with patient registration and billing in a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with medical insurance processes and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in using fax machines and basic office technology.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or certification in medical office administration or related field.
• Experience working in a physician office or hospital billing department.
• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent manual dexterity for handling paperwork and office equipment efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Register patients by collecting and verifying personal and insurance information accurately.
• Process patient billing and insurance claims, ensuring all data is complete and compliant with healthcare standards.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing, insurance coverage, and appointment scheduling in a courteous and timely manner.
• Maintain detailed and organized patient records, including handling medical terminology and documentation.
• Operate office equipment such as fax machines and computer systems to transmit and receive patient information securely.
