Renewals Account Manager

Backd Business Funding

This role is on-site Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm and is not eligible for remote work. Who You Are You have experience in account management, inside sales, or a financial services role — and you know how to own a book of business You’re a natural relationship-builder who earns trust with small business owners quickly and keeps it You’re comfortable with numbers — you can read a deal, spot a renewal opportunity, and have a confident conversation about merchant cash flow You’re proactive and self-directed — you don’t wait for merchants to come to you, you stay one step ahead of your portfolio You thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment and take pride in hitting — and exceeding — your targets You’re organized enough to manage a large, active portfolio without things slipping through the cracks What Your Will Do Manage a portfolio of active MCA, term loan, and LOC accounts from post-funding through payoff Monitor repayment progress and identify optimal renewal windows based on balance and performance Proactively contact merchants nearing payoff to initiate the renewal conversation Work with underwriting to structure renewal offers (amount, factor rate, term) that fit merchant cash flow Handle early payoff requests, stacking inquiries, and any mid-term modifications Track renewal pipeline and report on conversion rate, average renewal size, and portfolio health Build long-term relationships that drive referrals and multi-cycle retention What You Bring To The Table 1+ years of experience in account management, B2B sales, or financial services — MCA or alternative lending experience is a strong plus A proven track record of hitting and exceeding targets in a quota-driven environment CRM proficiency — you keep your pipeline clean, your notes current, and your follow-ups on time Strong phone presence and communication skills — you build rapport quickly and can navigate tough conversations with confidence Familiarity with MCA structures, term loans, and lines of credit — or the fast-learner mindset to get there quickly A consultative approach — you listen first, then offer solutions that actually fit the merchant’s situation Who We Are BackdCapital is the business lending division of Backd, a fintech company founded in 2019 with a bold mission: give small and medium-sized businesses the capital and support they deserve.
