Applications Engineer

TRUMPF Apps Engineers play a vital role in showcasing our technology to customers. As a subject matter expert in laser cutting, bending, and especially laser welding, you will demonstrate the advantages of TRUMPF products and convince customers to purchase them. Responsibilities Serves as the expert for 2D laser technology. Fully able to explain machine options and operate TRUMPF TruLaser. Independently organize and conduct persuasive customer demonstrations and industry trade shows. Evaluate customer parts and create programs to effectively demonstrate TruLaser. Recognize necessary part design changes and consult customers on modifications to define creative solutions for customer parts. Generate customer time estimates, provide recommendations for product selection, and produce sample parts. Consult customers on programming issues for existing and potential customers. Conduct operator training and on-site applications support for customers. Travel to customer sites to support challenging sales or production processes (travel time ~20‑30%). Help new customers with the startup phase to smoothly go to production phase. Experience & Qualifications Previous experience in the machine tool industry, preferably in Sales or Service areas. TRUMPF product knowledge preferred. Excellent communication skills required due to extensive customer contact.
