Machinist III

CNC Machinist IIIWe are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist III to independently set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes and/or multi-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers. This advanced role produces complex, high-precision components while ensuring all work meets blueprint, quality, and production requirements.The CNC Machinist III will troubleshoot machining issues, improve cycle times and repeatability, and collaborate with CNC programmers to refine Mastercam programs. This individual will also help integrate new equipment, develop tooling and workholding solutions, and mentor junior machinists. The position offers a potential career path into CNC programming or manufacturing engineering.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently set up and operate CNC lathes and/or multi-axis machining centers, including FANUC ROBODRILL equipmentRead and interpret complex prints, tolerances, and metric specificationsMake offsets, program adjustments, and simple machine-code edits as neededTroubleshoot tooling, toolpaths, surface-finish issues, scrap, and process variationWork with CNC programmers to refine and validate Mastercam programsPerform precision inspections using standard measuring equipment and CMMs when applicableSupport first-article and first-piece inspectionsDesign or modify basic tooling, fixtures, and workholdingImprove cycle time, process capability, repeatability, and scrap ratesCreate setup sheets, work instructions, and inspection documentationTrain and mentor less-experienced machinistsMaintain shop safety and 5S standardsQualifications6–8 years of CNC machining experienceAt least 3 years working with multi-axis machining centers and/or CNC lathesExperience performing complex setups independentlyWorking knowledge of Mastercam, including making program adjustmentsExperience with FANUC controlsAdvanced blueprint reading and precision-measurement skillsExperience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, brass, and plastics preferredFamiliarity with metric manufacturing processes and documentation preferredAssociate's or bachelor's degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering is helpful but not requiredThis is a non-exempt position requiring the ability to stand or walk for most of the shift and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
