Manufacturing Engineer

Johnson & Johnson Med Tech seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead new product introduction for advanced robotic surgical systems in Santa Clara, California. The role bridges design and manufacturing for next-generation medical devices, requiring expertise in precision assembly, process validation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, validate, and document assembly processes, tooling, gauges, and fixtures
- Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation and quality system records
- Drive cross-functional manufacturing reviews with R&D, Quality, and Production teams
- Lead process characterization, validation, and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues
- Support quality teams in proactively addressing non-conformances before production impact
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechatronic, mechanical, or related engineering field
- Minimum 3 years manufacturing engineering experience with demonstrated progression
- Strong CAD proficiency, rapid prototyping, and design-for-manufacturing expertise
- Extensive electromechanical troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation domains
- Proven experience developing design control documentation and manufacturing procedures
- Preferred: surgical robotics or high-precision medical device manufacturing background
