Dyslexia Special Education Teacher in Alvin, TX

Job Description

Step into a dynamic role supporting K-12 students as a full-time contract Dyslexia Teacher for the upcoming academic year. This position spans from August 11, 2026, through May 27, 2027, and involves working across several school sites. Focus on delivering tailored academic interventions, providing vital emotional support, and managing case documentation, making an impact for learners with dyslexia and other special needs.

Key Qualifications:

Active Texas Special Education Teacher certification required
Dyslexia Teacher certification mandatory
Solid experience working with students across K-12th grades
Proven ability to provide specialized instruction and interventions for dyslexia
Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with students, families, and educational teams
Case management experience—documenting progress, crafting IEPs, and collaborating on student plans
Commitment to supporting diverse learners in a multi-site school environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted academic interventions for students diagnosed with dyslexia and other special education needs
Offer individualized and group instruction aligned with each student's IEP
Manage caseload documentation and reporting with accuracy and confidentiality
Partner with general education teachers, school support staff, and families to maximize student progress
Cultivate a supportive environment that manages emotional, behavioral, and academic needs
Travel between assigned school locations within the district
