Key Responsibilities of the Telemetry Nurse

Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor for side effects
Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and family members

Requirements of the Telemetry Nurse

BLS certification required from AHA
ACLS certification required from AHA
RN License in state of employment or compact
One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
