Summary

As a Baguette Stretcher for Artisan Bakers, the candidate will be an essential part of the Artisan Bakers production team and processes. This person must be passionate, committed and dedicated to the quality of our product and the enrichment of our people.  This position requires above-average attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and the ability to quickly process information and act accordingly. This candidate will work closely with the production supervisor and report directly to them.

 

Objective:

Assist in all aspects of the baguette production process to ensure Artisan Bakers' quality, timeliness, and cleanliness standards are met. This role is responsible for actively participating in the established front-line baguette production process and adhering to the specifications of artisan bakers' policies and procedures.

 

Main Responsibilities/Functions/Main Tasks:

·       Stretches bread to the quality standards of Artisan Bakers.

·       Shapes dough by hand or by using dough molders or rollers.

·       Produce high-quality products in a safe and hygienic way.

·       Produce the right number of products to meet planned requirements.

·       Work as a team member to meet daily quotas and assigned tasks.

·       Work with a high level of awareness of BRC audit requirements.

·       Report on all health and safety issues to your immediate supervisor.

·       Actively participate in mandatory training and certification processes

·       Maintain standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and good environmental practices using GMP training

·       Communicate with your leaders and supervisors to ensure all tasks are completed

·       Keep a positive attitude, be honest, tidy and clean in appearance, punctual, take pride in your work and collaborate with others.

·       Accurately follows the shaping tally that is provided.

·       Thoroughly cleans workstation and room when finished with shift following all CGMPs and safety guidelines according to Artisan Bakers.

·       Must be willing and able to be cross trained in the Slicing/bagging department.

·       Completes production sheets and other records as required.

·       Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

·       Complete additional task assigned by management

Working Environment/ Physical Requirements :

·       Large scale manufacturing plant

·       Extreme temperature fluctuation

·       Slip resistant shoes required

·       Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted

·       Must be able to stand, bend, and slouch for an extended period of up to 8 hours.

·       Must be able to grip, squeeze, and hold items for an extended period of up to 8 hours 

 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

·       High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. A BA or BS degree or equivalent is preferred.

·       Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

·       You must possess general knowledge of food manufacturing, with a minimum of 2 years of previous experience in large production facilities.

·       Must possess the ability to meet deadlines.

·       Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

·       Must possess the ability to solve problems and make high cognitive decisions.

·       Must possess the ability to make decisions in a timely and effective manner.

·       You must possess the ability to work under pressure.

·       They must have a positive attitude, be honest, neat and clean in appearance, punctual, take pride in their work and be cooperative.

·       You must be willing to learn.
