POSITION OVERVIEW

Established heavy civil contractor in the Oklahoma City market is seeking a senior field operations leader to serve as a key second-in-command for construction operations. This is a higher-level leadership position for an experienced General Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Operations Manager, or comparable heavy civil professional who can oversee field execution across multiple projects, crews, and disciplines.

The successful candidate should be capable of helping run the field operation across earthwork/dirt, underground utilities, concrete, and asphalt work while coordinating superintendents, foremen, manpower, equipment, schedules, safety, quality, and production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide senior-level oversight of field operations across multiple active heavy civil construction projects.
• Serve as a key operational leader and second-in-command for field execution in the Oklahoma City market.
• Coordinate and lead superintendents, project superintendents, foremen, crews, equipment, subcontractors, and field resources.
• Oversee execution across earthwork/dirt, underground utilities, concrete, asphalt, roadway, and site-development scopes.
• Drive project planning, scheduling, production, quality, safety, cost awareness, and execution from mobilization through completion.
• Allocate manpower and equipment across projects and resolve resource conflicts or field constraints.
• Work closely with project managers, estimating, and senior operations leadership to keep projects aligned with schedule, budget, and client expectations.
• Identify and resolve field problems quickly while maintaining productivity and project momentum.
• Develop, mentor, and hold field leaders accountable for safety, workmanship, productivity, communication, and performance.
• Provide leadership with clear visibility into project status, risks, manpower needs, equipment needs, and operational priorities.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• Extensive heavy civil construction experience with progressive field leadership responsibility.
• Prior experience as a General Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, Project Superintendent, Operations Manager, Area Superintendent, or comparable field-operations leader.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects, crews, and field leaders rather than managing only a single crew or scope.
• Broad heavy civil experience across several disciplines, ideally including earthwork/dirt, underground utilities, concrete, and asphalt.
• Strong understanding of field production, manpower planning, equipment utilization, scheduling, safety, quality, and cost control.
• Ability to work effectively with project management, estimating, field leadership, subcontractors, owners, and senior management.
• Proven leadership, communication, decision-making, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
• Oklahoma City-area heavy civil market experience is preferred.

COMPENSATION

Base salary expected to start around $120,000, with flexibility depending on experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and overall fit.

POSITION LEVEL

This is a senior field-operations leadership position and is intended to be a level above a traditional Project Superintendent. The company is seeking someone capable of helping lead the broader field operation and providing oversight across multiple construction disciplines and projects.
