Company :Allegheny Health NetworkJob Description :GENERAL OVERVIEW:This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost-effective functioning of the department.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)Orients inexperienced staff on the operation of laboratory equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)Anticipates adverse reactions / conditions when monitoring the effects of all procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)Completes required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols and image storage and archival. (10%)QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum3 years’ experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology.Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) -OR- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) -OR- Radiography (R) – OR-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) certification issued by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing InternationalACLSCritical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.CPR – American Heart AssociationAct 34 Criminal Background Clearance CertificateAct 33 Child Abuse Clearance CertificateAct 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance CertificatePreferredAssociate Degree.Disclaimer: The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
