I'm working with a highly regarded Washington litigation firm that is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing Tacoma office. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney with 3+ years of civil litigation experience who wants to gain substantial courtroom exposure, work on complex cases, and develop as a trial lawyer.

The firm has an exceptional reputation for defending medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and other complex civil litigation matters on behalf of healthcare providers, hospitals, businesses, and insurers throughout Washington.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and other pleadings
• Take and defend depositions
• Participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Assist with trial preparation and courtroom proceedings
• Work directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
• Develop litigation strategy and case evaluations

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active Washington State Bar membership in good standing
• 3+ years of civil litigation and/or insurance defense experience
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and litigation strategy
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
• Strong organizational and case management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

Particular interest will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Medical malpractice defense
• Healthcare or hospital litigation
• Insurance defense
• Personal injury defense
• Wrongful death litigation
• Complex civil litigation
• Trial preparation and deposition practice
