Mechanical Designer II - Lunar Permanence

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the development of spacecraft fluids, structural, avionics, and harness designs. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities Prepare/evolve design layouts, create and maintain detail part and assembly drawings using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools. Support engineering teams in the development with mechanical layout and detail design and drawing for structural, mechanical, fluids and electronic detail parts and assemblies. Apply relevant company (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets). Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements. Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting & Design. 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill. Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5). Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers, etc. Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products. Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent. 4+ years proven experience. Knowledge of standard fluids and avionics components. Knowledge of brackets and secondary support structures. Experience with harness, tube, and pipe routing in Creo. Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.) Base Pay Range for CA applicants is $34.39 - $48.14 Base Pay Range for CO applicants is $31.53 - $44.13 Base Pay Range for WA applicants is $34.39 - $48.14 Other site ranges may differ Culture Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
