Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a specialized Neuroscience Unit caring for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. This role provides direct patient care, clinical assessments, care planning, and coordination of treatment while working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will have strong Med/Surg experience, excellent critical-thinking abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Provide direct nursing care during assigned shifts.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Delegate and supervise appropriate patient care activities.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Support a collaborative and professional healthcare environment.

Patient Population

• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Stroke
• Seizure Disorders
• Epilepsy
• Neurological Conditions
• Neurosurgical Recovery Needs
• Medical-Surgical and Telemetry Patients

Required Qualifications Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Licensure

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) License or eligibility for licensure.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• ACLS preferred.
• NIHSS Certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of Medical-Surgical Nursing experience required.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
• Experience in acute care settings preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Neuroscience or Telemetry nursing experience.
• ICU or CVICU experience.
• Knowledge of stroke and neurological patient care.
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
