Construction Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – MEP & Energy Infrastructure

Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (Arlington, VA office)

About the Opportunity

Talent Solutions Group is partnering with a leading national construction and energy solutions organization seeking multiple experienced Construction Project Managers and Senior Project Managers for major energy modernization projects in the Washington, DC area.

These are large-scale, multiyear projects involving commercial and institutional buildings, some exceeding 1 million square feet . Projects focus on reducing energy consumption through major infrastructure improvements, including HVAC modernization, electrical upgrades, building automation, solar energy, lighting, and other energy conservation measures.

We are seeking construction professionals who have successfully managed complex MEP-intensive projects from the general contractor side .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead construction projects involving HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and energy infrastructure upgrades.
• Manage subcontractors, superintendents, project engineers, and supporting construction teams.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontract negotiations, and construction execution.
• Coordinate installation of energy conservation measures, including HVAC systems, lighting, solar, and building automation.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Manage construction risks, change orders, subcontractor performance, and project reporting.
• Coordinate commissioning, testing, and project closeout.
• Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience , preferably with a major general contractor.
• Strong MEP experience on large commercial, institutional, or complex building construction projects.
• Proven experience managing subcontractors, construction schedules, budgets, and field operations.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems, building controls, or central utility infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive construction experience.
• Proficiency with construction scheduling and project management software.
• Must reside within commuting distance of Washington, DC.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident and be able to satisfy applicable project security-clearance requirements.

Important: Candidates whose experience is primarily as an owner's representative, consultant, or facilities manager without substantial general contractor construction experience will not be a fit.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with energy efficiency projects, energy performance contracting, or large-scale building modernization.
• OSHA-30 certification.
• Experience with commissioning, building automation systems, or sustainability initiatives.
