Recruiter General Description: The Recruiter is responsible for assisting the department with reaching enrollment goals by supporting all student recruitment initiatives including college fairs, high school recruiting, college visit days, and adult learner recruitment. This key position represents the college internally and externally to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations, and assists prospective applicants through the admission process and opportunities at UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ. Under the direction of the Director of Enrollment Management, the Recruiter will assist in the College’s New Student Orientation program. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Represents UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ at high schools, middle schools, youth organizations, and community agencies throughout Union County and neighboring counties where students, parents, alumni, guidance counselors, and other constituents gather. Executes an overall enrollment recruitment strategy toward team and individual goals to meet enrollment goals for the College. Provides information to prospects, applicants, and students via telephone, email, website, walk‑in visits, and other strategies. Assists in developing and implementing district‑wide, campus‑based, and program‑specific marketing and recruitment strategies. Assists with the development of enrollment marketing publications and communications in collaboration with the Communications department and distributes recruitment information and materials. Tracks statistics, gathers data, and writes reports. Provides outreach to area high school teachers, administrators, counselors, and students and families to promote UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ. Develops and maintains contacts with high schools and business/community leaders to provide admissions and information services and recruit students from these areas. Coordinates outreach efforts with the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and others. Provides prospective students with general financial aid, career, and college admissions information. Provides individualized and group information and counseling to prospective students and parents regarding the college enrollment process. Assists in organizing and conducting on‑ and off‑campus programs designed to promote community awareness of the College’s programs, services, and mission. Performs follow‑up activities on student inquiries, contacts, and interviews via the College’s CRM system or other communication outlets. Maintains literature racks on and off campus. Responds to all inquiries regarding UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ programs. Prepares reports on recruitment activities using MS‑Access, MS‑Excel, and other software applications. Other related duties as assigned. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree required. Student Recruitment Experience preferred. Competencies and Skills Required Excellent Customer Service skills. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Internet, and email; experience with integrated information systems, Microsoft Excel, and MS Access preferable. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to deal with the public. Able to prioritize time and activities, show initiative, and handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Bilingual skills preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed. Must have ability to communicate effectively with a diverse student body. Must be able to prepare and give effective individual and group presentations. Must be able to operate standard office automation and software applications. Ability to work as an effective member of the Enrollment Management team. Must demonstrate a commitment to the ideals of a community college. Curiosity. Quick Study. Physical Demands and Work Environment Position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort required; occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Some travel required. Salary $53,000 - $55,000 Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time faculty and staff which includes Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits. We also offer twenty vacation days, ten paid holidays, and a ten‑week summer work schedule which allows the college to close on Fridays.
