Job Description

• Develop and manage detailed cost estimates for construction projects in the property sector.
• Public and Private work including commercial, higher education, and government work.
• Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project timelines.
• Negotiate and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather competitive pricing.
• Maintain a database of historical cost data to improve future estimating accuracy.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports and recommendations to senior management.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and labor costs to ensure competitive pricing strategies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Chief Estimator should have:

• Proven expertise in construction cost estimation within the property industry.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using construction estimation software and tools.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• A thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor requirements.
• The ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
