Educational Support Professional: FNS Warehouse Lead

The FNS Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the Distribution Team and for the efficient organization and location of FNS product in walk-in units and warehouse areas. Collaborates with Distribution Procurement Specialist to establish par-level counts for frequently used product ensuring timely ordering to maintain levels. Records inventory transactions daily along with assisting in completing accurate inventory of walk-in units and warehouse area. Receives and verifies vendor inventories. Utilizes Linq software to gather and issue items utilizing FIFO per orders for FNS delivery. Uncrates and/or assembles new equipment as requested. Coordinates delivery and or pickup of FNS equipment. Operates District 11 CDL and non-CDL vehicles in a safe, legal manner. Promotes and follows the Board of Education Policies and departmental procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

• Demonstrates positive customer service attitude at all times. Promotes a positive image of the FNS Department to Schools, departments, and the public.
• Oversees the Distribution staff which includes Distribution Drivers and Distribution Assistants, ensuring they fulfill job responsibilities.
• Collaborates with Assistant Director and Distribution Procurement Specialist to make recommendations for training programs or disciplinary action for team members.
• Participates in the interview and hiring process for Distribution Team.
• Assists in maintaining food safety standards as outlined in the Department's ServSafe Managers program for warehouse area and walk-in units.
• Utilizes product dating and FIFO processes to ensure safe handling of product through receiving, storing, and delivery to sites.
• Ensures the use and completion of HACCP logs for walk-in units, refrigerated trucks, and delivery logs. Logs are kept on file for 3 years plus current year.
• Verifies vendor delivery of correct product, quantities, and condition. Provides invoices to Distribution Procurement Specialist noting any damage or discrepancies.
• Tags, brands, and engraves for identification purposes all new and donated assets, computer equipment, and other equipment required to be on the District's FNS fixed assets inventory.
• Performs duties in sub-zero environment for extended periods of time. Stores items in walk-in units and warehouse area according to Food & Nutrition Services procedures to assure employee safety.
• Assists in maintaining accurate inventory of warehouse and walk-in units to include completing month end inventories of said areas.
• Organizes warehouse and walk-in unit shelving for efficiency, labeling shelving units with product name ensuring that product deliveries are placed in only one area.
• Stores records and documents, and assists with maintaining the security of confidential records, and disposal of items with appropriate departmental personnel.
• Utilizes computer skills to pull and use a variety of software reports such as area delivery, transfers, and inventory.
• Picks and stages orders for each delivery assisting driver with loading of items when needed.
• Verifies the accuracy of items and quantities of all FNS deliveries to any location.
• Oversees warehouse equipment such as delivery racks, carts, forklifts, and hand trucks to ensure they are maintained in good, safe working order.
• Unpacks and assembles large and small equipment and properly disposes of packing materials as requested.
• Spot checks Distribution vehicle inspection logs to ensure being done correctly daily.
• Ensures Distribution vehicles are maintained in sanitary condition by spot checking cabs and boxes
• Monitors GPS tracking system and informs Distribution Procurement Specialist of any problems noted. Provides refresher training as needed.
• Notifies Distribution Procurement Specialist of driver incidents or accidents.
• Oversees BBQ grill and equipment, delivery and storage, monitors fuel levels, coordinates propane refills, and reports missing utensils to Distribution Procurement Specialist.
• Fills in as back-up Distribution Driver.
• Drives in a safe, respectful manner according to District 11 Transportation rules.
• Serves as a liaison with School Kitchen Managers and other FNS Staff and Management to best facilitate distribution of the FNS department's food and supplies to service locations.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

• Knowledge of warehousing procedures and techniques
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices
• Previous shipping/receiving experience.
• Ability to operate materials handling/moving equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Ability to work rapidly with numbers, codes and symbols with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to recall supplies received and delivered to the warehouse and to schools or work sites over a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows 11 programs that include Excel.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be minimum of 21 years of age
• Certified forklift operator. Forklift certificate waiver requirements; Certification obtained with 89 calendar days of hire date.
• Five years driving experience with a 20-foot truck or larger.
• Two years' experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing and inventory in a large warehouse operation.
• Possess a valid Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with current DOT certification and has a safe driving record as established by the District.
• ServSafe Manager certification within 89 days.

Organizational Relationships: Reports to FNS Distribution Procurement Specialist and Assistant Director for Nutrition

Working Conditions: Works/drives in winter weather conditions. Works in warehouse. Performs warehousing duties in sub-zero environment for extended periods of time

Physical Demands: The work is regularly active with periods of heavy exertion. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 100 pounds; climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; feel the size, shape and temperature of items; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors. FLSA Status: Nonexempt
