Microchip has an opportunity for a Manager-Supply Management in the Supplier Operations department. This position will supervise a team of Supply Chain Buyers who manage suppliers and the flow of materials and services into Microchip Technology Fabs.The Manager-Supply Management will be located either at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon or our Fab 5 facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Essential FunctionsManage Supply Management staff, including day to day job duties/performance, team building, employee development, training, and mentoring.Assist North American supply management department in addition to managing direct reports.Sourcing and contract negotiations with suppliers.Coordinate procurement activities with production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions.Serve as a point of contact responding to escalations of Fab supply issues proposing timely and effective solutions to supply shortages and problem areas.Serve as the primary liaison between Microchip's internal customers and suppliers. Responsible to qualify, develop, monitor, measure and evaluate the performance of the suppliers that provide critical materials and services to Microchip.Determination of source of supply, purchase quantities, delivery schedules, price negotiations, and applicable terms and conditions within corporate budget, quality, business expectations and guidelines.Ensure that purchased materials and services conform to or meet the specified requirements.Project management.This position has the authority and responsibility for obligating Microchip Technology via purchase order and contract commitments.Requirements/Qualifications:Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a business discipline5+ years of supply chain management job experience5+ years of manager or supervisor experience Proficient with MS Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPointStrong organizational, documentation, and writing skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong presentation skillsAble to contribute as a reliable and effective team member with minimal supervisionAble to coordinate multiple facets of the operationRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a business discipline5+ years of purchasing and supply chain management job experience5+ years of manager or supervisor experienceProficient with MS Office products; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPointStrong organizational, documentation, and writing skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong presentation skillsAble to contribute as a reliable and effective team member with minimal supervisionAble to coordinate multiple facets of the operationPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree, Supply Chain or Supply ManagementSupply chain related internships/co-op/work experience may be considered relevant job experienceCritical Physical RequirementsSit 80%; This position is not eligible for Microchip immigration sponsorship.Travel Time:0% - 25%Physical Attributes:Hearing, Seeing, Supervises Others, TalkingPhysical Requirements:Sit 80%; It consists of competitive base pay, restricted stock units, and quarterly bonus payments.
