This is not a handful of scattered open dates. The program is seeking coverage equivalent to approximately two full-time physicians , creating meaningful ongoing scheduling potential for physicians who want to establish themselves within one Nashville Emergency Medicine program. The opportunity spans a high-volume main hospital Emergency Department and affiliated freestanding emergency rooms. Physicians should be comfortable rotating across both practice environments and must be flexible to cover days, nights, and weekends . Opportunity Highlights Nashville, Tennessee Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Long-Term / Ongoing Coverage Main Hospital + Affiliated Freestanding ERs MediTech EMR Days, Nights & Weekends Main Hospital May Offer Shifts Shorter Than 12 Hours FSED Coverage Requires 12-Hour Shifts ABEM or AOBEM Board Certification Required Main Hospital Emergency Medicine The main Nashville hospital provides the higher-volume side of the assignment and is supported by the resources of a major tertiary referral center. 40,000–42,000 annual ED visits Approximately 1.8–2.0 patients per hour 36 hours of daily physician coverage MediTech EMR APP support across multiple 12-hour coverage windows The broader hospital provides extensive specialty and inpatient resources, including cardiovascular care, neurosciences, surgery, oncology, imaging, women’s services, and pediatric care. Affiliated Freestanding Emergency Medicine Physicians may also provide coverage at affiliated freestanding emergency rooms throughout the Nashville market. These sites function as fully integrated extensions of the main hospital Emergency Department, allowing physicians to evaluate, stabilize, treat, discharge, or transfer patients while remaining connected to a larger hospital network. One affiliated Nashville FSED is publicly documented with: 11 treatment rooms Fully equipped trauma bay CT X-ray Onsite laboratory 24/7 emergency physician staffing Adult and pediatric emergency care Direct integration with the main hospital for admission and transfer Schedule Providers must be flexible across: Day shifts Night shifts Weekend coverage The main hospital may consider shift lengths shorter than 12 hours . Affiliated freestanding ERs require 12-hour physician shifts . Preference will be given to physicians who are open to working both the main hospital and affiliated FSEDs , creating a broader and more sustainable scheduling model across the Nashville market.
