Role Description

The Senior Leasing Agent is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Montville & Bloomfield, NJ, responsible for driving leasing activity and supporting the overall performance of the leasing team. In addition to managing the full leasing process—from prospect inquiry through application, approval, and move-in—the Senior Leasing Agent will coach and train leasing agents, help improve follow-up and closing techniques, and provide guidance on day-to-day leasing activity.

This role will also work closely with property management to identify opportunities to increase occupancy, develop promotions and leasing strategies during slower periods, and create action plans for apartments that have been on the market for extended periods. The Senior Leasing Agent will monitor leasing activity, help identify areas for improvement, and take an active role in achieving occupancy and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in residential or multifamily leasing, preferably in a senior or lead leasing role.
• Strong knowledge of leasing practices, property management operations, and the full leasing process.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, train, and motivate leasing team members.
• Strong sales, communication, follow-up, and customer service skills.
• Ability to develop creative leasing promotions and strategies to improve occupancy and lease difficult or long-vacant apartments.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple prospects and priorities.
• Comfortable using property management software, CRM/leasing platforms, email, spreadsheets, and digital forms.
• Professional, collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with onsite and corporate teams.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; real estate or property management education/certifications are a plus.
• Ability to work full-time, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
