Obtains complete, accurate and relevant patient data for the purpose of registration for the outpatient, free-standing emergency department and inpatient population. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Vital signs Keeps charge Nurse aware of delays with patient care Facilitating calls to medical staff Facilitates patient transfer in collaboration with ED care team Acknowledges and incorporates - the importance of culture, the assessment of cross-cultural relations, and vigilance towards the dynamics that result from cultural differences, the expansion of cultural knowledge, and the adaptation of services to meet culturally unique needs. Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct Required Qualifications : Education and Training : Currently certified by the state of Illinois as a CNA or EMT-B license. Current CPR. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to care for patients with compassion and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to learn clerking.
