Job Description Account Manager I-III Account Manager I - $52,694 - $69,160 - $85,626 Account Manager II - $60,988 - $80,808 - $100,628 Account Manager III - $71,614 - $95,784 - $119,954 The Scoop This position is responsible for leading and managing all operational aspects of servicing and retaining clients. It also manages the transition of new business into MedImpact effectively, accurately, and timely. The Account Manager ensures consistent customer satisfaction throughout the client lifecycle by collaborating with assigned client teams, over 30 business units, and interacting with customers and consultants. They are accountable for delivering successful projects, building and maintaining solid business relationships, and executing additional revenue opportunities for MedImpact. They also ensure that products, services, and project deliverables align with client service agreements, that appropriate service levels are achieved, and that project timelines and deliverables meet client requirements while issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. This role works on complex assignments requiring judgment and initiative, and works independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments while providing guidance to support personnel. What You Get To Do Develop, build, and maintain solid client business relationships from onboarding through the entire lifecycle, including clear engagement rules, orientation, and adherence to MedImpact processes and services. Ensure appropriate service levels and operational support by championing client operational requirements, including business model, target markets, benefit design, pharmacy network composition, claims adjudication expectations, reimbursement methodologies, metrics, and reporting tools. Proactively maintain and improve service performance, work across the organization to resolve issues, expedite service recovery, provide feedback to internal and external customers, and incorporate lessons learned into performance and planning. Lead core client team members and extended team to meet client needs and deliver flawless fundamentals during business relationship management and renewal phases. Adhere to strict procedural and quality standards, including accurate documentation, testing protocols, claims analysis, and deep understanding of technical and service specifications. Lead onboarding of new business for existing clients, including documentation, sign‑off, communication, site visits, conference calls, and ensuring flawless implementations. Use project management skills to track milestones and deliverables, notify risk indicators, and provide regular status updates to leadership. Educate clients on MedImpact systems and processes to ensure full orientation. Manage client and consultant compliance with service agreements to eliminate risks to MedImpact. Partner with multiple business units to ensure accurate claims adjudication setup. Document and communicate client technical and service specifications across the organization. Analyze claim results, identify discrepancies, inaccuracies, anomalies, and unexpected consequences. Resolve adjudication configuration issues identified during implementation. Complete special projects such as leading workgroups, overseeing new system functionality, mentoring/training staff. Provide regular feedback to management regarding client status and business development opportunities. Proactively recommend client and operational improvements. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education And/or Experience For consideration candidates will need: Level I Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience and the following: Minimum of two (2) years of account management or related client/customer service experience in a healthcare setting. Minimum of one (1) plus years’ proven experience with Project Management or Project Coordination using best practices. Two (2) years of internal MedImpact experience may substitute for this requirement. Must be familiar with healthcare‑related state and government regulations such as Medicaid, CMS, etc. Level II Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university. Minimum of four (4) years of account management or related client services experience, and at least four (4) plus years’ experience with Project Management or Project Coordination. Strong preference for experience in a healthcare, Pharmacy Benefit Management, managed healthcare service organization, insurance company, or related entity. Must be familiar with Medicaid, CMS, etc. Level III Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university. Minimum of six (6) years of account management or related client services experience, and at least six (6) plus years’ experience with Project Management or Project Coordination. Strong preference for experience in a healthcare, Pharmacy Benefit Management, managed healthcare service organization, insurance company, or related entity. Must be familiar with Medicaid, CMS, etc. Computer Skills Intermediate to advanced skill set in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Visio. Experience as a user of multiple business software applications is required. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Pharmacy Technician license or national certification desired. Successful completion of MedImpact Internal Certifications required within one (1) year of active employment in this role (i.e., MedAccess Certification, Cognos, and Med Coaching Certification). Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate proposed design solutions in a consultative manner. Good business acumen and understanding of PBM service processes. Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills. Good planning, organizing, prioritizing, negotiating, team building, and leadership capabilities. Positive interaction with clients at all levels. Accountability for delivering results under tight timelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Travel This position requires domestic travel of up to 30% of the time.
