Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a Day 5x8-Hour shift (08:00 - 16:30). The primary responsibility will be to evaluate and treat patients within the Acute Rehabilitation department, with the flexibility to float to the Acute Inpatient unit based on census requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs aimed at restoring vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills for individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
• Establish strong rapport and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members through thorough patient assessments and attentive care.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and organizational policies to ensure safety, privacy, and optimal patient care.
• Provide clinical supervision to assistants and aides, and serve as a clinical instructor for assigned students.

Rehabilitation Services

• Plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy programs for patients experiencing impairments due to illness, injury, or psychological/developmental challenges.
• Document patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and update individualized Plans of Care (POC) based on comprehensive assessments and patient data.
• Coordinate patient care efficiently with other providers and support team members.

Clerical Responsibilities

• Complete accurate documentation related to patient therapies in medical and departmental records as required.
• Perform general clerical tasks, including answering phones, managing patient appointments, and maintaining electronic health records (EHR).

Safety and Compliance

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment after each use.
• Safeguard patient health information (PHI) and protect it from unauthorized disclosure.
• Complete continuing education requirements to uphold licensure and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current Occupational Therapist (OT) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred.
