FREELANCE PAID CONTENT STRATEGIST

Digital Counsel is seeking a Freelance Paid Content Strategist to support paid media planning and execution across our art and culture client roster. This is a project‑based role ideal for a strategist who understands the intersection of performance marketing and cultural audiences—someone who can build smart paid campaigns without sacrificing creative integrity. You’ll work directly with our account and creative teams to develop paid social and display strategies, select and optimize content for promotion, and provide clear reporting on results. Experience with arts, cultural, or mission‑driven brands is a significant advantage. This is a freelance engagement with the potential to grow into a full‑time role for the right candidate. We’re looking for someone who wants to build something with us—not just fill a gap. Responsibilities Develop paid content strategies for Meta, Instagram, and other platforms in support of campaign launches, exhibitions, events, and editorial initiatives. Identify and recommend organic content for paid amplification; advise on audience targeting, geo‑targeting, and segmentation. Build and manage monthly paid media plans, including spend allocation, flight dates, and optimization notes. Monitor campaign performance and deliver concise, actionable reports highlighting KPIs, learnings, and recommendations. Collaborate with account managers and creative team to ensure paid assets meet platform specs and brand standards. Stay current on algorithm and policy updates across Meta and other paid platforms relevant to cultural clients. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in paid social or digital media strategy, preferably within a creative or cultural agency context. Proficiency in Meta Business Suite, Google Ads, and paid media buying models (CPM, CPC, CPA, CPE). Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting campaign data and producing clear client‑facing reports. Familiarity with the art and culture sector; understanding of cultural audiences and institutional communication is a plus. Organized, communicative, and able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. Familiarity with Figma, Google Presentation, Claude, CMS platforms, Notion, or Basecamp a plus.
