Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Reports to Operations Manager or Team Leader, the LPN provides clinical support to the physician and mid-level providers. The LPN provides instructions to patients as directed by the providers. The LPN is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations, and ensuring completion of all duties vital to business operations.

Licenses and certifications required include an active, unencumbered multistate (compact) LPN nursing license issued by a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state, specifically Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio. Education requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Years of experience preferred is 6 months to 1-year.

Duties and responsibilities include providing patient care, ensuring completion of all forms vital to the revenue cycle, providing instructions to patients under direction of the provider(s), ensuring complete and accurate information in patient chart, maintaining adequate level of supplies in exam rooms and workstation, cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms, performing cleaning, maintenance, and/or sterilization of equipment and instruments, OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA compliance, assisting with completion of patient requests, completion of referral process/outpatient test scheduling, and precertification, timely and accurate filing/distribution of all patient information, interacting with Central Billing Office as needed to resolve patient issues, and other duties as assigned.

Required skills and knowledge include ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint ability to learn other computer skills, good organizational skills, work professionally with doctors, hospital administration and management, SEP employees and the public, demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture, demonstrated ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance, experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events, respond and follow through to requests from customers promptly, work carefully and precisely with attention to detail, utilize resources wisely, perform duties willingly and with initiative, share necessary information so co-workers can do the same, and cooperate with other departments and work groups.
