Senior Roadway Engineer

Mead & Hunt has a full‑time position available for an experienced roadway engineer in any of our Virginia, Maryland and DC office locations. Responsibilities Serve as a design lead for department of transportation and/or municipal transportation improvement projects Preparing/reviewing designs, specifications, and cost estimates for roadway projects Preparing construction documents including stamping finalized plans for roadway projects Ensuring transportation group and Mead & Hunt policies and procedures are followed Preparing task and contract technical and price proposals Managing project and contracts deliverables, budget and schedules Leading business development opportunities in the Mid‑Atlantic region Other civil engineering projects in other locations as needed Some travel will be required. The Successful Candidate Must Have All Of The Following A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university A minimum of twelve (12) years of industry related experience PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in Maryland within 6 months of hire The Ideal Candidate Will Have Any/All Of The Following ORD Experience Strong verbal and written communication skills Leading roadway engineering projects Project management Mentoring project staff Business development tasks (client relations, proposal development, etc.) If you have strong communication and organizational skills, are self‑motivated, and can work well both independently and as part of a team, complete the online application process for this job posting at Benefits and Compensation Mead & Hunt proudly offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, a 401K plan with a generous company match, life and disability insurance, and an employee assistance program. Salary Range: $135,000 to $179,000 annually – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as experience, skill set, or location.
