Human Resources Generalist Tinley Park, IL, US Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually Salary: $65,000-$75,000 annually Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalists to join our HR team. This position will have a strong focus on benefits administration, unemployment claims, HR data management, and day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. We are looking for someone with practical, hands-on HR experience who can manage their responsibilities accurately and follow issues through to resolution. Key Responsibilities Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, eligibility changes, terminations, and employee benefit questions. Research and resolve benefit enrollment, eligibility, deduction, and carrier-related discrepancies. Manage unemployment claims, including gathering documentation, preparing responses, meeting state deadlines, and coordinating information related to claims. Maintain accurate employee information and process HR transactions in the HRIS. Utilize Microsoft Excel regularly to organize, reconcile, audit, and report HR information. Review HR data for accuracy and research discrepancies. Support onboarding, employee changes, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. Respond to employee and manager HR questions and provide appropriate guidance or escalation. Support HR compliance and administrative requirements. Prepare HR information and reports for HR leadership and, as needed, executive leadership. Assist with additional HR projects and responsibilities as needed. Required Qualifications 3+ years of HR experience in a Generalist or similar HR role. Hands-on benefits administration experience. Experience handling unemployment claims and responses. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables, filtering, sorting, and working with large amounts of employee data. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ADP Workforce Now. Experience supporting employees across multiple states or locations. Experience preparing reports or information for senior or executive leadership. SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification.
