Travel Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Matthews, North Carolina

Work within innovative acute care environments featuring an 874-bed, nationally recognized teaching hospital. You'll be exposed to advanced levels of care-Stroke and Chest Pain Centers, Level I trauma services-and have daily interaction with top professionals from interdisciplinary teams. This role expands your bedside skills across diverse med-surg/telemetry units, deepening knowledge in stroke care, cardiac rhythm management, and comprehensive adult/geriatric treatment. Gain valuable experience navigating resource-rich settings, EMR (Epic), and patient flow across a multi-unit system-assets that stand out on any resume.


Schedule/Hours:

• 7a-7p or 7p-7a shifts available
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend required
• No on-call
• Holiday coverage required (75% of holidays)
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks
• Up to 6 days RTO (holidays excluded)

Qualifications:

• 2 years Med/Tele RN experience preferred
• Current RN license (NC or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, and cardiac drip management
• Strong adaptability for floating between designated regional facilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional care to adult/geriatric patients with diagnoses from COPD to GI bleeds
• Independently manage patient loads according to unit census and acuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary resource teams, hospitalists, and support staff
• Monitor, interpret, and document telemetry as the primary RN for your patients
• Float within the region to support patient flow and staffing needs
