Role: .9 FTE Emergency training position Schedule : Will work three 12-hour shifts each week, 1100-2330 Unit: 37-bed Emergency department, level III trauma center Hospital: 177-bed acute care hospital that offers the intimacy of a community hospital paired with the resources of PeaceHealth, a mission driven healthcare system in the PNW Program Details: Training program is typically 12-16 weeks in length To be considered: WA State RN license and Provider BLS Certification are required Must have at least 1 year of RN experience, new to Emergency Nursing Nurses selected for this fellowship program will be obligated to work in the PHSJ Emergency Department for a minimum of 24 months holding 0.6 FTE or higher, from the end date of successful completion of the training program. Failure to fulfill the months and FTE requirement will require that the RN reimburse PHSJ for up to $5,000 of education expenses. ** ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ W e offer you: A wage range of $52.15 – $77.39 (will increase in October) The hiring rate is dependent RN work experience, education/training, and terms of the WSNA bargaining unit agreement. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team. Position Details: Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence. Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development. Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program. May assist with Trauma case review in conjunction with the Trauma registrar and/or Trauma Coordinator Performs other duties as assigned. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing A minimum of 1 year RN experience required. Current Washington Registered Nurse licensure or Multistate License required by date of hire. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. ACLS. PALS, and NIHSS required within 6 months of hire. TNCC required within one year of hire. Skills Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required) Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment. (Required) Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures. (Required) Basic computer skills. (Required) _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Working Conditions Lifting Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
