Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Summary:
This role involves providing high-quality, individualized patient care under the supervision of the Unit Director and leadership team. The Registered Nurse assesses patient needs, develops and implements care plans, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care by conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitoring effects and responding to adverse reactions promptly.
• Educate patients and families using age-appropriate, culturally sensitive materials, supporting learning and understanding.
• Document patient care, responses, and interventions thoroughly within medical records, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Participate in treatment planning, multidisciplinary conferences, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and safety.
• Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards, and managing hazardous materials appropriately.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of inpatient behavioral health nursing experience.
• Possess an ASN with a preferred BSN degree.
• Be BLS-AHA certified.
• Exhibit proficiency in EPIC and other healthcare systems.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and cultural competence in patient care.
